Week 1: Phoenix D and Whiteshill B fought out an entertaining draw. The home side were pleased to have back the services of Phil Vines, who was unbeaten on the night. Chris Varley and Terry Jordan both won two and Alan Lardner another for the visitors. Andy Hammond scored one and combined with Phil to win the doubles and salvage the draw. Forest Green got Harried as both Harry Prescott and Harry Hogan returned maximums for the visitors. There was a point each for Ian Yemm, Tony Poole and Keith Foord for the home side before Harry and Harry won the doubles. John Smee won the single point for Randwick B as they were beaten 9-1 at home by Woodchester E. Two wins for Pat Pumphrey was only bettered by Carol Philp and John Bunn with maximums. Carol and John combined to win a comfortable doubles. The experience of the Frampton C team was too much for Phoenix F as they won the match 9-1. John Armshaw scored the point for the visitors but with two for Brian Cullis and maximums for Alan Perratt and Gerry Dupree, the later also combined to win the doubles the result was never in doubt. Cam A entertained Phoenix E with the result all square at five apiece. Steve Partridge and Paul Stewart each won two and Brian McNeill another for the home side but none could stop Connor Ward who was unbeaten all night. Lucky Gallage scored a single point before combining with Connor to win the double and secure the draw.

 

Week 2: Phoenix E’s youngsters were in good form when they played Frampton C. Two wins for Connor Ward was bettered by Arran Skinner with a max. Lucky Gallage won another point for the home side. Frampton’s points were scored by Gerry Dupree (2) and Len Agg (1) before Connor and Arran won the doubles. Another win for the Phoenix club saw their F team beat Randwick B 6-4 at home. A max for Andy Jarvis, two for Alan Walker and another for John Armshaw completed the home scoring, while there was a win each for the visiting Elaine Evans, Mark Edwards and John Smee before Elaine and John won the doubles. Whiteshill B entertained Cam A. Top player on the night was Steve Partridge for Cam who was unbeaten. The home trio of Chris Lardner and Barry and Terry Jordan each won two to secure a 6-4 home victory. Cam B had to settle for a draw with Phoenix D despite a maximum for Harry Prescott for the home team. Harry Hogan and Alex Yoeung each won one. The visitors points came from John Catterall and Andy Hammond with one win each and two for Krzysztof Kowalczuk, before the latter two secured the draw with a doubles win.

 

Week 3: A good team performance gave Phoenix D a 7-3 win when they entertained Woodchester E. Two wins each for Andy Hammond, Krzysztof Kowalczuk and Phil Vines for the home team couldn’t beat the resistance of John Bunn for the visitors who went away unbeaten in the singles. Andy and Phil sealed the result with a tightly fought doubles win. Forest Green C also put on a good team performance beating the visiting Phoenix F 9-1. John Armshaw scored the first point of the night for the visitors but it was Forest Green all the way after with Tony Poole and Keith Foord both unbeaten and a brace for Ian Yemm. Ian and Tony won the doubles in comfort. Steve Partridge again made the difference in a closely fought match at Frampton C. The home pair of Brian Cullis and Alan Perratt each won two, but with Steve unbeaten for Cam A and singles wins for Paul Stewart and Bob Wild, Steve and Paul combined to win the doubles and seal the win 4-6. Cam B travelled to Whiteshill B but only Harry Presscott scored points for the visitors with a brace. Chris Varley scored a max for the home team and Chris Lardner and Terry Jordan each scored two before the two Chris’s won the doubles for a final result 8-2.

 

Week 4: The Frampton C trio of Alan Perratt, Brian Cullis and Len Agg all won a point against the visiting Whiteshill B. But maximums for Chris Varley and Neil Wilkins plus the doubles gave the visitors a 7-3 win. Cam A came back from two nil down to record their best win of the season, beating visiting Randwick B 7-3. Brian McNeil returned a maximum for the home side and there was another two from Paul Stewart (who came back from 7-0 down in the fifth) and one from Bob Wild. Mark Edwards scored two for Randwick and Roger Dickenson another. Bob and Brian won the doubles for Cam. Phoenix F resisted but could not prevent their D team club mates running out 10-0 winners. Andy Hammond, Krzysztof Kawalczuk and John Catterall were all unbeaten. Woodchester E played a weakened Cam B as the visitors could only field two players. Harry Prescott with two wins and Alex Yeung with one battled in vain and did well for the three points. But again John Bunn was unbeaten and assisted by Pat Pumphrey with a set victory, the two then combined to win the doubles. Match score 7-3. Phoenix E entertained local rivals Forest Green C and ran out convincing winners 8-2 on the night. Lucky Gallage scored a maximum against his old club mates and was well assisted by Connor Ward and Arran Skinner with two apiece. Jane Leigh and Keith Foord scored consolations for the visitors before Connor and Arran completed the scoring with a comfortable doubles win.

 

Week 5: Phoenix D got the better of their E team club mates with a 6-4 victory, but the home players: Andy Hammond (1), Krzysztof Kowalczuk (2) and Phil Vines (2) couldn’t get the better of Connor Ward who scored a maximum and Arran Skinner won another before Phil and Krzysztof won the doubles and sealed the win. It was honours even when Cam A visited Forest Green C. Best player on the night was Tony Poole for the home side who was unbeaten and assisted by Keith Foord with a brace. Steve Partridge won two for Cam and Brian McNeil and Paul Stewart won one apiece. Steve and Paul claimed a doubles win to earn a 5-5 draw. Randwick B also drew when they entertained Frampton C, with Roger Dickenson winning one and Mark Edwards and Elaine Evans winning two each for the home side. Brian Cullis and Gerry Dupree each bagged two wins and then won the doubles. Final score 5-5. A popular result in the division this week saw Whitehill Vets and Woodchester E also draw 5-5. Neil Wilkins scored two for the home side and Barry Jordan a maximum. All the visitors got on the card as Pat Pumphrey (1). Carol Philp (1) and John Bunn (2) had singles wins and sealed the draw by winning the doubles in four.

 

Week 6: Whiteshill B were richly rewarded on their travels to Randwick B winning all ten sets. The Whiteshill team of Chris Varley, Terry Jordan and Alan Lardner all going unbeaten. Brian Cullis and Gerry Dupree each scored maximums and Alan Perratt a brace as Frampton C beat Forest Green C 9-1. Keith Foord scored a consolation for the Green before Brian and Gerry won the doubles. Steve Partridge and Mick James were unbeaten in singles and doubles for Cam A as they defeated Phoenix D 7-3. Krzysztof Kowalczuk, Andy Hammond and John Catterall each scored a point for the visitors. Cam B edged a close match when they visited Phoenix E winning 6-4. Lucky Gallage was the best on the night winning all his three for the home side, but the more consistent visitors of Alex Yeung (2), Harry Prescott (2) and Mick James (1) gave them the result. Connor Ward won another for the home team before Harry and Mick sealed the win in the doubles. Phoenix F offered little resistance and were beaten 10-0 at home to Woodchester E, for whom Pat Pumphrey, Carol Philp and John Bunn all finished unbeaten.

 

Week 7: Phoenix D were made to work hard for their 8-2 win against the visiting Frampton C. Andy Hammond scored a max for the home side and was backed up by Phil Vines and Krzysztof Kowalczuk with two each. Alan Perritt and Brian Cullis both got on the score sheet then Phil and Krzysztof edged a very tight doubles. A fine Maximum from Ian Yemm and a brace each from Jane Leigh and Keith Foord gave Forest Green C a 7-3 win against the visiting Randwick B. Roger Dickenson and Elaine Evans won a point each and combined to win the doubles to complete Randwick’s scoring. A fine hat trick of wins for John Bunn helped his Woodchester E side to a 7-3 victory over the visiting Phoenix E. Pat Pumphry and Carol Philp completed Woodchester’s scoring with two wins each. Connor Ward scored two for the visitors then combined with Arran Skinner to win the doubles 15-13 in the fifth. Whiteshill B scored a 9-1 home win against Phoenix F, with maximums from Chris Varley and Barry Jordan and two from Terry Jordan. John Armshaw scored a consolation for Phoenix then Chris and Barry won the doubles in four.

 

Week 8: Harry Prescott was again on good form scoring a maximum and helping his Cam B team to a 6-4 win at Frampton C. He was backed up by Mick James and Harry Hogan who scored a point each. Gerry Dupree scored a brace and there was a win each for Brian Cullis and Alan Perratt for Frampton C before Harry P and Mick combined to win the doubles and seal the match win. Phoenix E just edged their F team club mates in a tight tussle. John Armshaw and Andy Jarvis each scored a brace for the “visitors”, but Connor Ward made the difference for the home team winning his three and there was a point each for Lucky Gallage and Arran Skinner before Connor and Arran sealed the match when winning the doubles. Barry Jordan and Chris Lardner each scored Maximums when their Whiteshill team travelled to Forest Green C, and Alan Lardner scored another. Ian Yemm and Tony Poole each won a singles and Jane Leigh combined with Ian to win the doubles in five after being two down. Brian McNeil and Alex Yeung scored a point each for Cam A when they were beaten 8-2 by the visiting Woodchester E. Pat Pumphrey and John Bunn were unbeaten in singles and doubles and John Smith edged another in five. Elaine Evans scored a single point for Randwick B as they lost 1-9 to Phoenix D. Andy Hammond and Krzysztof Kowalczuk went unbeaten in singles and doubles and John Catterall bagged himself a brace.

 

Week 9: Andy Hammond and Krzysztof Kowalczuk both returned maximums for Phoenix D when they entertained local rivals Forest Green C and Chris Hampton also got on the score card. Ian Yemm and Tony Poole won a point each for the visitors before Andy and Krzysztof secured an 8-2 victory by winning the doubles. Woodchester E came out 7-3 winners in this close fought match against Frampton C. John Bunn was again unbeaten for the home side and Pat Pumphrey and Carol Philp bagged a brace each. Gerry Dupree and Alan Perratt won a point each and then combined to win the doubles in five. A Chris Varley maximum gave him man of the match as Whiteshill Vets B beat visiting Phoenix E 6-4. Terry Jordan scored two for the home side as did the returning Roger Simpson for the visitors. Connor Ward and Arran Skinner picked up a point each before Chris and Neil Wilkins combined to win the doubles and seal the win for the home side. Phoenix F could only field two players when they entertained Cam A and could not prevent the visitors going away with ten points with Mick James, Alex Yeung and Brian McNeil all unbeaten. Cam B beat the visiting Randwick B 6-4.

 

Week 10: Connor Ward led the way with a maximum for Phoenix E when they entertained Cam A and was backed up by Arran Skinner with a brace. Brian McNeil scored two wins for the visiting Cam and Bob Wild and Paul Stewart won one apiece. Connor and Arran sealed victory by winning the doubles for a 6-4 result. Woodchester E push to the top of the table with a convincing whitewash over the visiting Randwick B. Pat Pumphrey, Carole Philp and John Bunn all unbeaten on the night. Harry Prescott won all Cam B’s points when they went down 3-7 at home to Forest Green C. Ian Yemm, Tony Poole and Jane Leigh each scored two and Ian and Jane completed the night with a doubles victory. Whiteshill B were made to battle for a well deserved 7-3 win against Phoenix D. Terry Jordan was unbeaten for the home side and son Barry scored a brace. Neil Wilkins scored the remaining singles win before he joined Terry for victory in the doubles. Phil Vines, Andy Hammond and Krzysztof Kowalczuk each won one for the visitors. Phoenix F battled to win three valuable points when they took on Frampton C. Alan Perret and Gerry Dupree each scored a maximum and won the doubles in five for the visitors. All the home team players of John Armshaw, Joe Sheppard and Cliff Jordan won a set each, leaving the score Phoenix on three Frampton on seven!

 

Week 11: Woodchester E continued their good form at the top of the table this time visiting Forest Green C and coming away with all ten points. Pat Pumphrey, Carol Philp and John Bunn were all unbeaten on the night. Cam A entertained Whiteshill B and found them too strong going down 2-8. Barry Jordan and Allan Lardner each scored a maximum and Terry Jordan a brace for the visitors. Alex Yeung scored a consolation for Cam before he combined with Brian McNeil to win a close doubles. Phoenix D suffered defeat at home to Cam B for whom Harry Prescott and Mick James went unbeaten in singles and doubles. Andy Hammond, Phil Vines and Krzysztof Kowalczuk won a set each to finish 3-7. Brian Cullis was man of the match for Frampton C with a maximum as they were held to a five all draw at home by Phoenix E. Gerry Dupree and Alan Perratt completed the scoring for Frampton. Arran Skinner and Connor Ward won two sets each then combined to win the doubles and seal the draw for the visitors. Phoenix F recorded a rare win when they visited and beat Randwick B 6-4. Roger Dickenson was unbeaten for the home team and John Smee won another. A good team performance saw Joe Sheppard and John Armshaw win two apiece and Alan Walker another. Alan and John combined to win the doubles.

 

Week 12: Phoenix E entertained two man Randwick B and ended as comfortable 8-2 winners. Lucky Gallage and Connor ward “scored” two apiece and combined to win a tight doubles. John Smee and Mark Edwards each recorded a win for Randwick. Ian Yemm was unbeaten in singles and there was a brace apiece for Tony Poole and Keith Foord when they left Phoenix F with a 7-3 victory. Cliff Jordan and John Armshaw recorded a singles win apiece for the home side and then Cliff combined with Alan Walker to win the doubles. Woodchester E strengthened their position at the top of the table with a comfortable 8-2 victory against Phoenix D. John Bunn was again unbeaten for the hosts and Pat Pumphrey and Carol Philp bagged a brace each. Phil Vines replied with two for the visitors before John and Carol won the doubles.

 

Week 13: Whiteshill B keep the pressure on the league leaders with a hard fought 6-4 win against the visiting Frampton C. Chris Varley, who was hampered with a calf injury won one and Terry Jordan another for the home team, but it was a fine maximum from Chris Lardner that kept the home side together. Gerry Dupree and Brian Cullis bagged a brace each for the visitors before Chris Lardner and Terry Jordan sealed the victory by winning the doubles in five. Randwick B and Cam A shared the points in a five all draw with all the players making a contribution. Roger Dickenson and Elaine Evans each won two and John Smee another to complete the scoring for the home team. Paul Stewart top scored for Cam with two and was backed up by team mates Bob Wild and Brian McNeil, who won a set apiece. Paul and Brian won the doubles to secure the draw. Phoenix E secured an 8-2 win when they visited Forest Green C. The home side could only provide two players and Jane Leigh and Keith Foord won a set each. Lucky Gallage “scored” two and Connor Ward and Arran Skinner each won one before Connor and Lucky combined to win the doubles in a close fought five. Phoenix D got back to winning ways at the expense of their F team club mates. Krzysztof Kowalczuk and Phil Vines each returned maximums and there was a brace for John Catterall. Andy Jarvis had got the “visitors” off to a good start winning the first but it went downhill from there with John and Krzysztof sealing a 9-1 victory in the doubles.

 

Week 14: Only one point now separates the two teams at the top of division three as the visiting Whiteshill B ran out 9-1 victors at Woodchester E. Barry Jordan and Chris Lardner each scored a maximum and Chris Varley bagged a brace for Whiteshill. John Bunn scored a consolation for Woodchester before the two Chris’s sealed a fine night’s work by winning the doubles. At the other end of the table Phoenix F are still struggling, this time going down 3-7 at home to Cam B. John Armshaw scored two wins for the home side and Louise Rees, playing up, won another. Mick James (3), Bob Cutts (2) and Lin Callard (1) scored the singles wins for the visiting Cam and Mick and Bob won the doubles. Cam A entertained Forest Green C and thanks to a Brian McNeill hat trick and a brace each from Steve Partridge and Alex Yeung won the match 8-2. Tony Poole scored the two in reply for the Green before Steve and Brian won the doubles with ease. Gerry Dupree won all his three singles but couldn’t prevent his Frampton C team losing 4-6 to the visiting Randwick B. Roger Dickenson, Mark Edwards and Elaine Evans won two apiece for the visitors then Gerry was joined by Alan Perratt to win the doubles. Phoenix E pulled away from their D team club mates with an emphatic 8-2 victory in an entertaining derby match. Connor Ward recorded a fine max and there were two wins apiece for Arran Skinner and Lucky Gallage. Andy Hammond scored two in reply for the “visitors” before Connor and Arran came back from two down to win the doubles in five.

 

Week 15: The Forest Green C Trio of Ian Yemm, Tony Poole and Jane Leigh scored a singles win apiece as they went down 3-7 at home to Frampton C. Gerry Dupree and Alan Perritt went unbeaten in singles and doubles for the visitors. Whiteshill B pulled clear at the top of the division with a comfortable 9-1 victory against the visiting Randwick B. Chris Varley and Terry Jordan each scored a maximum and Chris Lardner bagged a brace for the home side. Mark Edwards scored a consolation for the visitors before the two Chris’s won a comfortable doubles. A Phil Vines hat trick got Phoenix D back onto the winning path as they overcame the visiting Cam A 7-3. A Steve Partridge brace and a singles win for Brian McNeil completed the visitors score. A point from Andy Hammond and a brace of wins from Krzysztof Kowalczuk, who then combined with Phil to win an entertaining doubles in five. Phoenix F came away from table topping Woodchester E with four valuable points thanks to a singles win for John Armshaw and a fine brace from Andy Jarvis. John Bunn scored yet another maximum and Woodchester’s score was completed by Carol Philp with two and one for Pat Pumphrey. Andy was joined by Alan Walker to win a comfortable doubles.

 

Week 16: Stand in captain, Alan Walker, bagged a brace of wins for bottom side Phoenix F when they entertained table topping Whiteshill B, and along with another point from young Joe Sheppard a 3-7 home defeat was respectable. Terry Jordan was unbeaten for the visitors and there were two wins for Andy Taylor and one for Allan Lardner. Terry and Allan won a hard fought doubles in five. Randwick B edged this close tussle against the visiting Forest Green C thanks to two wins apiece for Mark Edwards and John Smee and another for Elaine Evans. Tony Poole and Ian Yemm bagged a brace each for the visitors before Elaine and John sealed the victory winning the doubles. A fine team performance by Frampton C gave them a convincing 8-2 victory against the visiting Phoenix D. Gerry Dupree with a max and two apiece from Alan Perratt and Brian Cullis did the damage for the home side, Andy Hammond and Krzysztof Kowalozuk scored a point each before Gerry and Alan won the doubles in three straight. Third placed Phoenix E shaded this match against Woodchester E 6-4, thanks to Connor Ward with a hat trick and one apiece for Lucky Gallage and Arran Skinner. John Bunn led the way for the visitors with a brace and there was appoint apiece for Pat Pumphry and Carol Philp. Connor and Arran sealed the win by winning the doubles in three. Cam B claimed the club bragging rights when they “travelled” to Cam A and won 8-2. Steve Partridge and Alex Yeung scored the points for the home side, but with Harry Prescott scoring three and two apiece for Mick James and Harry Hogan, the win went to the B team with Mick and Harry P winning the doubles in three.

 

Week 17: A close fought game between Cam B and Frampton C was edged by the visitors 4-6. A Harry Prescott brace and singles wins for Bob Cutts and Harry Hogan completed the home score. Len Agg scored one and Alan Perratt and Brian Cullis won two each before the later two combined to win the doubles 12-10 in the fifth to seal the match. Phoenix D entertained Randwick B and finished as 8-2 winners thanks to a Phil Vines treble and a Andy Hammond and Krzysztof Kowalczuk double. Roger Dickenson and John Smee scored a point each for Randwick then Phil and Andy won the doubles. Whiteshill B powered on at the top of the division at the expense of Forest Green C winning 10-0 with Chris Varley, Chris Lardner and Terry Jordan all unbeaten. Phoenix F suffered a whitewash at the hands of their E team club mates, who had Arran Skinner, Connor Ward and Lucky Gallage to thank for winning all the points. Second placed Woodchester E maintained the pressure on the leaders by beating the visiting Cam A 7-3. John Bunn won all three, but was pushed close by Steve Partridge and had to come back from two love down winning the fifth 14-12. Carol Philp (2) and Pat Pumphrey (1) completed the home sides singles wins. Steve Partridge bagged a fine brace and Alex Yeung won the other point. Carol and John won the doubles in five to seal the result.

 

Week 18: Frampton C took advantage of the visiting Woodchester E, who could only field two players, coming out 6-4 winners. The home trio of Gerry Dupree, Alan Perratt and Brian Cullis, each “scored” one point for the home side. John Bunn went unbeaten for Woodchester and along with Pat Pumphrey won the doubles in five to keep the score line respectable. A fair result at Cam A as they drew 5-5 with the visiting Phoenix F. Brian McNeil was unbeaten in singles and Paul Stewart won another for the home side. Andy Jarvis and John Armshaw bagged a brace apiece and Alan Walker won another for the Phoenix team, but they couldn’t prevent Brian and Paul winning the doubles to secure the draw. Whiteshill B increased their lead at the top of the division by picking up eight points from their visit to Phoenix E. Connor Ward scored a fine double for the home side but Barry Jordan went unbeaten and Chris Varley and Chris Lardner each won two for the visitors. The two Chris’s won the doubles in four to complete the match win 8-2. Andy Hammond, Phil Vines and Krzysztof Kowalczuk each scored a maximum for Phoenix D at Forest Green C winning the match 9-1. Ian Yemm and Tony Poole combined to win the doubles and avoid the whitewash. Randwick B entertained Cam B and although all the home side of Mark Edwards, John Smee and Roger Dickensen got on the scorecard they still went down 3-7. Mick James was the best for Cam, winning all his three, while Harry Hogan won two and Bob Cutts won another. Mick and Harry won a high scoring doubles in four.

 

Week 19: Ian Yemm was man of the match for Forest Green C scoring a maximum against the visiting Cam B and was backed up by Jane Leigh with a brace and a singles win for Tony Poole. Harry Hogan knocked in a couple of wins for Cam and Harry Prescott competed their scoring. Ian and Jane combined to win the doubles and seal a 7-3 victory. Woodchester E visited Randwick B with their only two available players and came away with a 7-3 victory thanks to John Bunn and Pat Pumphrey both going unbeaten in singles and doubles. Cam A entertained Phoenix E and it was the visitors who left happy with an 8-2 winning score line. Steve Partridge and Brian McNeil scored a point apiece for Cam but found the visiting Connor Ward and Arran Skinner unbeatable in singles and doubles, with Lucky Gallage completing their scoring. Phoenix D’s double pair, Craig Mills and Krzysztof Kowalczuk, salvaged a point for the home side by winning the doubles after Chris Lardner and Terry and Barry Jordan won all their singles to give Whiteshill B a 9-1 win.

 

Week 20: Two player Woodchester E shared the points at five all with the visiting Forest Green C. Pat Pumphry’s double and John Bunn’s maximum competed the home sides score. Tony Poole won for the visitors and was then joined by Ian Yemm to win the doubles. Phoenix E and Frampton C also shared the points at Nailsworth. The visitors points came from Jerry Dupree and Brian Cullis with two apiece and another from Alan Perratt. Connor Ward was on good form for the home team scoring a maximum and then winning the doubles with Arran Skinner, who had also won a singles. Phoenix F lost out in this match between the bottom two teams in the division, losing 4-6 at home to Randwick B. Joe Sheppard and Andrew Jarvis each bagged a brace for the home team, while the visitors points were scored by Roger Dickenson and Elaine Evans with two each and a singles win for Mark Edwards. Mark and Elaine won the doubles in five for the visitors to secure the win. Table topping Whiteshill B were pushed hard by Cam A but still ran out 6-4 winners. Steve Partridge was man of the match for the visitors scoring a maximum and then combining with Paul Stewart to win the doubles. All the home trio of Barry Jordan, Andy Taylor and Terry Jordan recorded two wins apiece. Cam B proved to be too strong for the visit of Phoenix D, returning a 6-4 victory. Mick James and Harry Prescott both recorded maximums for the home side while there was a point apiece for Andy Hammond, John Catterall and Chris Kowalczuk. Andy and John combined to win a close doubles for the visitors to keep the score respectable.

 

Week 21: Whiteshill B recorded another win, this time at the expense of the visiting Cam B. Chris Varley was unbeaten and there were two wins for Terry Jordan and one for Alan Lardner. Harry Prescott was best for Cam, winning two sets and Harry Hogan won another. Chris and Alan combined to win the doubles and give the home side a 7-3 victory. Woodchester E hold on to second place by winning 7-3 at Phoenix D. John Bunn returned another maximum, Pat Pumphrey bagged two and the returning Carol Philp won another. Phil Vines recorded two wins for the home side and Chris Kowalczuk another before the same two lost to John and Carol in the doubles. In a match played a few weeks earlier, Randwick B lost out to the visiting Phoenix E 2-8. Roger Dickenson and Mark Edwards scored the points for the home side, while there were maximums for Arran Skinner and Connor Ward and a singles win for Pete Skinner for the Phoenix club. Arran and Connor won the doubles in four. Forest Green C edged the local derby against the visiting Phoenix E, running out with a 6-4 win. Ian Yemm was unbeaten for the hosts and there were two wins for Tony Poole and one for Jane Leigh. The visitor’s points came from John Armshaw with two and one from Andy Jarvis, the same two combined to win a comfortable doubles. It was a close match between Frampton C and the visiting Cam A, which the hosts narrowly won 6-4. Gerry Dupree and Alan Perratt scored a brace each and Brian Cullis won another for the home side, Alex Yeung was unbeaten for Cam and Bob Wild completed their scoring. Gerry and Alan combined to win a comfortable doubles to give the home side the victory.

 

Week 22: Frampton C suffered a 1-9 defeat at home to division leaders Whiteshill B. Barry Jordan scored a brace for the visitors and Chris Lardner and Chris Varley each scored a max. Gerry Dupree scored a consolation for the home side before the two Chris’s won the doubles in three. Cam A also had a comfortable 9-1 victory over lowly placed Randwick B, the score line not doing justice to the closeness of some of the matches though. Alex Yeung and Steve Partridge both went unbeaten in singles and Paul Stewart won two. Roger Dickenson scored Randwick’s consolation point before Steve and Paul won the doubles in three. Second placed Woodchester E were held to a five all draw by the visiting Cam B. Harry Prescott was man of the match winning all his three for the visitors, whose score was completed by Harry Hogan and Bob Cutts, with a win apiece. Pat Punphrey top scored for the home team with a brace. Carol Philp and John Bunn won a set each before combining to win the doubles in five to secure the draw. Phoenix E picked up valuable points as they beat two player Forest Green C 7-3 at home. Connor Ward “scored” two wins and Lucky Gallage and Arran Skinner won one each. Ian Yemm, maintained his recent good form returning a brace and then combined with Tony Poole to win the doubles. Phoenix F lost out in their club derby, losing out 3-7 at home to Phoenix D. The visitor’s points came from Andy Hammond, John Catterall and Chris Kowalczuk with two sets apiece. Andy Jarvis also scored two for Phoenix F and Alan Walker completed their scoring. Andy and John won an entertaining doubles in five.

 

Week 23: Top of the division Whiteshill B got the better of second placed Woodchester E, inflicting a 7-3 defeat on their challengers. Barry Jordan scored a maximum and there was two wins apiece for Chris Varley and Chris Lardner. John Bunn scored two for the visitors and combined with Carol Philp to win the doubles in three. Randwick B suffered a heavy defeat going down 2-8 to the visiting Frampton C. Brian Cullis and Gerry Dupree each scored maximums for Frampton and Alan Perratt scored another point. Elaine Evans and Mark Edwards scored a point apiece for the home side, then Brian and Gerry combined to win the doubles in five for a comfortable victory. The Cam B team of Mick James, Harry Prescott and Bob Cutts scored a maximum each when they entertained the bottom side Phoenix F. Andy Jarvis and Cliff Jordan combined to win the doubles and avoid the whitewash. Steve Partridge and Alex Yeung were unbeaten in singles and doubles as their team beat their hosts Forest Green C 7-3. All the home side got on the scorecard as Ian Yemm, Jane Leigh and Sam Wysocki won a set apiece. Phoenix D got the better of their “E” team club mates, inflicting a 7-3 defeat and denting their promotion hopes. Phil Vines was unbeaten and Chris Kolalczuk and John Catterall won two sets each. Connor Ward held his side together winning two and combining with Arran Skinner to win the doubles in five.

 

Week 24: Whiteshill B secured promotion with a comfortable 8-2 win away to Randwick B thanks to a Chris Varley hat trick and a brace each for Neil Wilkins and Barry Jordan. Elaine Evans and Mark Edwards each won a set for Randwick before Neil and Barry won the doubles in three. Woodchester E have kept the pressure on the leaders all the way and showed no mercy on bottom side Phoenix F, winning 9-1 at the Phoenix club. Pat Pumphrey and John Bunn both scored maximums and Carol Philp scored a double. Alan Walker saved the whitewash before John and Carol won the doubles with ease. Phoenix E kept their chances of promotion alive with a 7-3 home win against Cam B thanks to a maximum from Connor Ward, a pair from Craig Mills and a single set from Arran Skinner. Mick James bagged a brace for Cam and Bob Cutts completed their scoring before Arran and Connor won the doubles. Steve Partridge was man of the match for Cam A, scoring a max as they shared the points with the visiting Phoenix D 5-5. Brain McNeil completed the scoring for the home side with a brace, while John Catterall led the way for the visitors with two. Chris Kowalczuk and Andy Hammond won one apiece then John and Chris won an exciting doubles in five for a share of the points.

 

Week 25: Harry Prescott was man of the match as he scored a maximum for Cam B as they beat their A team club mates 7-3. Mick James bagged a brace and Bob Cutts single set put the home side in charge. All the “visitors”, Steve Partridge, Alex Yeung and Brian McNeil won a set apiece before Harry and Mick won the doubles in four. Forest Green C recorded a comfortable 8-2 victory against the visiting Randwick B thanks to maximums from Ian Yemm and Tony Poole and a singles win from Jane Leigh. The Randwick reply came from Roger Dickenson and John Smee with a set apiece, Ian and Tony then won the doubles in three. Woodchester E , in second position, did just enough to keep the chasing Phoenix E from their heels edging the match 6-4. Pat Pumphrey won a singles set and John Bunn and Carol Philp won two apiece. Connor Ward led the way for the visitors with a maximum and Arran Skinner won another set, but the two youngsters lost the doubles in the fifth to the experienced John and Carol. It was top verses bottom with Whiteshill B defeating the visiting Phoenix F team 10-0. Neil Wilkins, Andy Taylor and Terry Jordan were all unbeaten. Phoenix D recorded a 7-3 home win against the visiting Frampton C team, thanks to braces for Phil Vines and John Catterall and a rare maximum for Andy Hammond. Alan Perratt bagged a brace for Frampton and then combined with Brian Cullis to win the doubles in four.

 

Week 26: League winners, Whiteshill B, made short work of their two player opposition when they visited Forest Green C. Chris Varley, Chris Lardner and Barry Jordan won all their singles but lost the doubles in five to Jane Leigh and Tony Poole. Match result: Forest Green 1, Whiteshill 9. Randwick B and the visiting Phoenix D shared the spoils in a five all draw. John Smee bagged a brace for Randwick and Roger Dickenson and Elaine Evans won a set apiece. Andy Hammond scored a max for the Phoenix team and John Catterall’s brace completed their score. John and Elaine combined to secure the draw by winning the doubles in five. Phoenix E won the latest Phoenix derby, this time against the “visiting” Phoenix F. Connor Ward and Arran Skinner were unbeaten in singles and doubles setting up a 7-3 win. All the visitors, Andy Jarvis, Craig Mills and John Armshaw got on the scorecard. With promotion and relegation out of the question, the points were evenly shared by Frampton C and the visiting Cam B. Alan Perratt and Brian Cullis bagged a brace each for the home side and a single from Gerry Dupree completed their scoring. Harry Prescott was again man of the match for Cam, scoring a hat trick and then combined with Mick James to win the doubles to add to Mick’s singles win for a five all draw. Steve Partridge was man of the match for Cam A as he scored a hat trick against the league runners up Woodchester E but couldn’t stop his side losing 4-6. Alex Yeung completed the scoring for the home side while the visitor’s points came from a singles win for Pat Pumphrey and a brace apiece and the doubles from Carol Philp and John Bunn.

 

Week 27: Runaway division winners Whiteshill B recorded a 7-3 victory over the visiting Phoenix E with all three of the home team, Chris Lardner, Chris Varley and Barry Jordan winning two sets apiece. Connor Ward was man of the match for the visitors scoring a fine maximum. Chris L and Chris V combined to win the doubles 12-10 in the fifth. In a match played earlier, Phoenix D completed a whitewash against Forest Green C with Andy Hammond, John Catterall and Krzysztof Kowalczuk going unbeaten. Another match played early saw Cam B defeat Randwick B 8-2. Harry Hogan and Bob Cutts each scored a maximum and Mick James scored a pair for the home side. Elaine Evans scored a singles win for Randwick and Randwick won the doubles in four. Divisional runners up Woodchester E suffered a 3-7 home defeat at the hands of the visiting Frampton C. Carol Philp and John Bunn each won a singles and combined to win the doubles for Woodchester while there were maximums for Gerry Dupree and Brian Cullis and a singles win for Alan Perratt for the visitors. Phoenix F and Cam A shared the spoils in a five all draw with man of the match going to Alex Yeung for the visitors with a maximum. Paul Stewart won a singles for Cam A, while for Phoenix, there was a brace apiece for Andy Jarvis and Joe Sheppard and a singles win for Alan Walker. Alex and Paul won the doubles in four for Cam.
